Official MIYUKI Colour Durability Information

Posted by H @HarmonyBeads on 1st May 2024

Oftentimes we are asked by customers what the colourfastness or durability is of MIYUKI Delica and Seed Beads that we sell. This of course is a difficult question to answer as each project varies in its end use, as well as the user of the piece will vary significantly. In order to answer SOME queries, we have looked to the Official MIYUKI website which has a wealth of information about their products.

Specifically the durability information below, as obtained from their site should provide some insight to their beautiful, but also widely varying products.

<<< The following information is sourced from the Official MIYUKI website >>>

Based on the GLASS GROUP or FINISH / EFFECTS GROUP of the MIYUKI Product,
the following KEY / NOTES apply to the <Durability*> information:

*Notice

Please ensure appropriate handling referring to the above information and the following notices when they are applied to textile goods or accessories that touch the skin directly.

  • Some beads are dyed, "Galvanised" (Silver-Plated) or plated. The colours on the outer layers may rub off or come off if they are soaked in strong solvents or wear off with constant abrasion.

  • Silver-Lined, "Galvanised" (Silver-Plated) and Silver-Plated beads are oxidised while applied on certain fabrics that are acidic, they may decay or turn dark due to the chemical change. In order to prevent such a case, neutralise your fabrics and threads before embroidering. Silver-Lined products may discolour overtime due to oxidisation with air and moisture.

  • Some dyed colour beads might fade by the sun-ray, UV and general wear and tear
